Say Cheese Part II

After returning home from work this smile greeting me is one of the best things in the whole world. Creighton is always so happy for his mommy to come home. This week I worked three days and two weeks ago I worked four days. I am not use to it and I feel just beat. I am not sure how moms work full-time and maintain their home and care for their family and stay sane. A big "you go girl" from me to them.

Our Very Merry Christmas

Creighton woke us up at 8:30 Christmas morning saying, "Santa came!" He was really excited for his first Christmas. He was so kind to us to let us sleep in. When I was younger we were always up by 6:00 am. Creighton knows that the real test of a good toy is the taste. And this one passed! He loved all of the bath toys that he asked Santa for. Now I'll NEVER get him out of the bath! He is definitely part fish.

"Whoa, neat! Where does all of this good stuff come from?!"
Christmas Eve afternoon Creighton started opening one of his gifts. But it was the only time he was interested in the wrapping paper. Everyone told me, "He will be so distracted by the boxes and paper he won't even know he has toys." But Creighton knew where the toys were and ignored the boxes/paper on Christmas morning. That made his mommy so happy. There was lots of playing at our house!
This is what was in that big package! A Toy Story bike from Grandpa Wilde!
Creighton is a button-pusher and the only thing I've heard for the last two days is Buzz's voice saying, "Our turbo boosters are running low. This vehicle needs to be run by foot power since we seem to have lost all crystallic fusion."

I think Grandma and Grandpa Chambers are hoping for a grandson who plays basketball.
They might be on to something... He is already slam-dunking!
Grandpa Sanders is preparing Creighton to be his little helper with this workbench. Creighton loves to use the hammer and pound on everything!
Oh yay... Another toy that sings and lights up and is supposed to help us learn! I am so grateful I have very quickly learned to tune out all of Creighton's exciting toys.
He loves to stand up!
Boys can't have too many trucks!
Creighton was flipping through his books trying to find a good story to read to his Grandma Wilde.

Every Christmas morning I can remember we have had cheese puff and grits. It's a southern thing. Cason wanted Cinnamon Rolls. So we had them-with party chip frosting! But I was missing my cheese puff... so I think next year we'll have both! Some traditions are just really hard to break. We had a very fun and memorable Christmas this year. We hope you did too!

Mommy's 1st Christmas

The Christmas season has been a lot of fun with Creighton. I got Creighton an adorable Baby's 1st Christmas ornament and have been thinking that I need a Mommy's 1st Christmas ornament! Christmas sure is a lot different once you have your own children. I will admit that Creighton is going to be a very spoiled little boy this year. He deserves it though, he is definitely on the nice list!
Now that I have Creighton it's time to start getting serious about Christmas traditions! My cousin asked me the other day when I was taking Creighton to see Santa. Um... it hadn't even crossed my mind! And I am glad that she reminded me. Creighton enjoyed tugging on Santa's beard. That boy and his love of hair... Of course he wasn't scared of Santa-I haven't found much Creighton is scared of!
He has left the Christmas tree alone for the most part. I have been surprised. The presents on the other hand... the wrapping paper is just so pretty!

What Are You Eating NOW?

Daily I am fishing something out of Creighton's mouth that he has found to eat. Most of it is not for human consumption, and even if it is... he found it on the kitchen floor under a rug or cupboard. Of the things I WILL let him eat though, one of his new favorites is popcorn!
Today while I was at work Cason put Creighton down for a nap and after a few minutes of quiet he went in to check on him and found this: Yes, those are bite marks on his crib. He was in the middle of gnawing off the finish when Cason found him. He finds a way to get ANYTHING in his mouth!

9 Month Pictures

We just love our photographer, Adrianne. Creighton's 9 month pictures turned out beautiful and I am so happy. Of course, then I find it difficult to choose which ones to hang on my living room wall. These pictures capture Creighton's personality just perfectly.

Say CHEESE

Creighton has started posing for the camera. When the red light turns on, he gives me the best SMILES.

I got a note in the mail today from my Grandma Betty, who lives in Arkansas. She said, "I've been thinking he needs to be in a contest... that sweet, gorgeous smile." Yes, these smiles would win MANY contests! I can't wait for her to see these pictures. I am so glad he is getting in more teeth. 5 now... and they just add to the sweetness of his smile!

See How I've Grown

Today I went to the doctor for a check-up. I am 28.5 inches and 21.6 lbs. That means I have grown 8 inches and 12.14 lbs since I was born. I am becoming a very big boy. I will show you: See- I use to look so tiny in my high chair.
But now I fit in it so nicely. It is just the right size for me now.
I remember coming home from the hospital in this big car seat. At that time it wasn't really Creighton-sized.
But now I am so big for it Mommy and Daddy say it is time for a big boy car seat. And when I'm not sitting in my car seat I like to play in it!
I use to be able to fall asleep anywhere. And because I was so tiny everywhere was comfortable to me.
Don't get me wrong, I like my crib, but a big boy like me needs more space. See how tiny this thing is?
These pillows on the couch use to tower over me.
Now I show them who's the boss.
My first real holiday was Easter. I was too little to enjoy the holiday though.
But I am excited for Christmas this year. I am going to enjoy every minute of the Christmas season. I love to explore under the tree!
It is so fun to get bigger because I am able to do more things. Mommy wants me to stay a baby, but she is very grateful that I am a healthy boy. It sure is fun to grow!
