Another Day of Birthday Fun

Birthday's are so fun, we always try to spread the excitement over as many days as possible! The day after Creighton's birthday, Big Daddy had to head back to Arkansas. So we headed to Utah so he could meet up with Inotda and they could head back to Arkansas together. We stayed for just a short time in Saratoga Springs with family but already Creighton is obsessed with Disney Infinity and Macey Jo learned to dress-up!
After a goodbye to Big Daddy we headed to have lunch with Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Sam!
Creighton felt more birthday love from his family in Utah!!

He also felt something from the Applebees employees, but it wasn't love... it was embarrassed! They came over and sang to him and gave him an ice cream sundae!
We are always so happy to get together with family. Macey Jo took the opportunity the first 15 minutes to snuggle up with grandma and papa. They didn't mind one bit. But then when the french fries came out...
Our sweet little princess in her Ariel dress-up dress! When visiting in Saratoga Springs sweet Avery was so nice to teach Macey Jo all about dress-up. Auntie Jenny even gave Macey Jo this dress that was just her size! You see it was a MUST to have a princess dress-up dress to wear for later that afternoon because we were going to...
That's right! Disney On Ice! We have been so excited for weeks to go! Well, I should say that I have been excited for weeks. I kept it a secret from Creighton mostly because I didn't know how to explain to him what it was and I knew it would be thrilling for him to arrive and see all of the Disney themed  extravagance. As we were driving towards the arena I pointed to a billboard advertising Disney on Ice and told Creighton that was where we were going and then he started getting really excited!!

Overall it was an exciting time! We enjoyed the music and ice skating and costumes.
Mommy's favorites parts were the performance of "Under the Sea" and "Be Our Guest".

Those will probably always be some of my favorite Disney songs/scenes... The little girls in the audience loved Rapunzel, but she didn't do much for me... Not my generation!
I am not sure what Creighton's favorite part was, but there were several parts that he loved and he was constantly clapping, reminding me to clap, and made me giggle as he hooted and hollered several times.
To top the evening off, as we drowsily came home and checked the mailbox we discovered yet another birthday gift for Creighton! A book from the Giraud's in Kansas!
I will speak for Creighton and say that this has been his best birthday ever!!

4 years of Creighton Eli

Today we celebrated our Creighton's 4th birthday!

He has been planning his birthday for months now and has been helping with all of the details. In fact, yesterday he wanted to help make the cake. I said, "No, I will make the cake- this is my present to you." He said, "Mom, cakes are not presents. They are for looking at and eating."
After much deliberation he finally chose a Disney Planes theme for his party!

This year we threw Creighton a big party with lots of family and friends. We were so happy that so many were able to join us for our big guy's special day. We had our party at our church, due to the size of our get-together, and ate pizza, had lots of fun with a pinata, ate cake and ice cream, and opened presents-spoiled boy!!

A really fun present Creighton received was from Big Daddy. Big Daddy wanted to get Creighton a bike so they went to the store and he let Creighton pick out what he wanted-a Spiderman bike!

Now I was a bit skeptical... I have not been able to teach Creighton to pedal in the last 2 years but Big Daddy was sure that he could do it! They spent an afternoon outdoors with no luck. But at the party, with an audience, Creighton took off without any problems!
I am happy, and relieved, to announce that our 4 year old Creighton is now a bike rider! And not just any bike, but a Spiderman bike-rider!

Creighton's family and friends know what he likes, he got quite the haul of things he adores. He will be spending plenty of time watching Toy Story 2 and seasons 2 of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck (he likes to sing the theme songs), playing with cars/trucks/planes and Legos, reading books, blowing bubbles, playing with balls and playing "Who Shook Hook?" and "I SPY".

He will also be sleeping comfy and cozy in new Disney Planes bedding while wearing new pajamas (after taking a bath with new bath toys and bath markers). During the day he will be styling in new clothes, he is set up with golf clubs and balls (like daddy) and will also be rootin' on his favorite team (says daddy) with his Oregon Ducks hat.

When all was said and done he had a really fabulous day, it was all he had hoped for and more!
It was a joy to celebrate 4 years of Creighton with him today!

February Is Over

February is over. The days went by slowly and the month went by quickly!
We love to celebrate Valentine's day in February, we feel lots of love in our home!

It makes me so happy to see these two have fun together. They truly love each other. Here they are dancing. We have a Vtech toy on the fridge that is for learning to make matches, but Creighton and Macey Jo prefer to push the buttons and dance to the music. (In fact Macey Jo carries it around like a 90's boom box.)
Creighton was spoiled this Valentine's Day. Not only does he have a mommy and daddy and grandma's and grandpa's who love him but he has some special Valentine's in our ward (some older women) who brought him over some special treats.

I certainly understand why they have a thing for my handsome guy! He is such a sweetheart.
Recently he has been going the extra mile to be extremely helpful, saying such things as,
"Mom, when you need help driving the car, just holler back at me." (When he is sitting in the back seat of the car.)
or he likes to always make sure I am ok.
"Mom, let me feel your forehead.... (feeling) Uh-oh. It feels warm. You must be sick. Lay down and I will take care of you."
February means our daddy's birthday. Unfortunately he is not much for a big to-do and really likes to lay low. But we did our best to make it special. The morning of his birthday we went and picked him up balloons and took them to his work. I am sure it was more exciting for Creighton than for daddy! Than we took him to Costa Vida for lunch.
Dad had class the night of his birthday. Sometimes being an adult is so responsible! But afterwards we had a pizza dinner and toasted pecan cake!
Happy Birthday Cason!
"27 Feels Like Heaven!"
All of that happened in the middle and the end of February... but at the very beginning of February we did do something pretty fun! We headed to Salt Lake City for a mini-vacation! Cason went to a Jazz game with his brothers and some friends so we headed down as well. We took the kids to the Gateway Discovery Museum, which of course- was a hit! Creighton keeps asking, "Do you want to go to my museum again?"
The most fun of all was "the Beehive" or what our family called the ball pit.

The kids also found fun pretending like they were riding a horse and grocery shopping...

Or rock climbing and pretending to be an Indian or a pioneer.

Overall it was a fun time spent Saturday afternoon at the Gateway Children's Museum.
When daddy headed off to the Jazz game the kids and I headed to the swimming pool at the hotel.
My water babies loved the swimming pool until it got too chilly. A little hot tub action made us feel more cozy though. Then we headed to our room and had a much better time than our daddy snuggled in a warm bed watching the Olympics. All until... Creighton got a sick tummy! We were planning on seeing our Grandma and Papa the next day but decided to leave early the next morning for home.
A lot of our February was spent sick. Someone in the family was sick at each point in February and Macey Jo went to the doctor twice in 2 weeks. I think that is what I have heard from most families.
When Macey Jo is not sick she is either exploring future occupations...
 like nurse or doctor
 or perhaps seamstress.
She could just be accessorizing however.
And she is beginning to take care of her babies.
Now it is March!!
And Big Daddy has arrived for the blessing of his new grandson, Renner.
He is also here to help celebrate Creighton's 4th birthday on Friday!
Creighton has been anticipating his birthday for months now, I hope it meets his expectations! We have a fun weekend planned!
